EIA statement on appeal of Fredrik Lönegren S-8

This appeal was filed by Fredrik Lönegren. S-8, against the jury decision in his protest against Lukasz Zakrzewski, P-155 at the European championships 2015, race 5 gold fleet.
Some minor procedural mistakes were made in convening this protest, which we will address in a separate note to the IDNIYRA-Europe Board, but these were not relevant to the outcome of this protest. In this protest, S-8 alleged that P-155, coming into the top mark on port tack, sailed between the mark and the darling mark before making his final tack and rounding the first top mark. read more…

Important Information Regarding the European Championship A-Fleet Final Standings

Iceboaters,

the weather at this year’s European Championship made things difficult for everyone involved. Tough decisions had to be made quickly which affected everyone. There was a lot of pressure put on the PRO and the Commodore to change the results of the regatta. Weeks after the event there had been time to review our decisions and correct some of our mistakes. It is important to set the precedent for proper procedures so that the same mistakes are not made in the future.  read more…

EIA Statement on Appeal in the Case of Race 5 (A) – EC 2015

Dear Iceboaters,
EIA can not solve the disputes around Race5(A)-EC 2015. The rule we have to apply is “Lit. 7 (EIA), Organisation of IDNIYRA Europe in the Yearbook 2015”. This rule only allows appeals against Protest Hearing Decisions. There is no other rule on this. At EC 2015 no protest in this R5 case was filed, consequently no appeal against can be made. Therefore the appeal of Jörg Bohn, Commodore of IDNIYRA-Europe is inadmissible. Jörg has got an official writing with this information. The third EIA member (Stan Macur) did not participate in this case. He declared himself as prejudiced, because he is a member of the PRC.

March 26th 2015, EIA

Note:
The rule referred to is Lit. 7 (EIA), Organisation of IDNIYRA Europe in the Yearbook 2015 (Print Version) but in the Online Version https://idniyra.eu/?page_id=522 it is Lit. 6.

5th A-Fleet Race European Championship

Iceboaters,

today I appealed to the European Iceboat Authority (EIA) regarding my decision to withdraw the 5th A-fleet race after the majority of National Secretaries voted to do so. It is now in the Hands of the EIA to either verify or correct the decision taken.

Thank you for your understanding

ChampionEC2015-KarolJablonski

IDNIYRA-Europe congratulates Karol Jablonski, P-36.

He is the new European Champion of the year 2015.
He dominated the races and got 5 bullets in. Great performance.

But also the PRC and the hosting nation Netherlands did a great job to make these championships real. We never had to deal with such difficult circumstances.

EC 2015 will continue

EC2015-LogoIceboaters and friends,

the weather forecast for the next two nights predicts -1° / -2° . So there could be a chance that the soft ice surface could become hard and a better race ground. The PRC will do their best to prepare the course, so that you haven’t to sail the ploughed acre. The temperatures over the day also should be lower than the last days, so let’s hold the fingers crossed that the regatta will continue with good races the next 2 days. Sail safe and fast.
