DN Junior and Ice Optimist World Championships 2016 INSURANCE
Dear young DN and Ice Opti iceboaters
Some correction regarding the point: INSURANCE
Entries to Junior World Championship in 2016 are only accepted with a proof of valid third party liability insurance that must be presented at check-in. Minimum insurance amount: 500 000€. Parents or other adults who have parental authority are responsible for competitors under 18 years old. They should show that their children have an insurance and have to sign the disclaimer for them.
You don`t need to send your insurance to check by IDNIYRA Insurance Manager.
If you are in doubts about your insurance – you can send here: juniormgr@idniyra.eu the scan of insurance proof to ensure that everything is ok.
Single event insurance (SEI) policy can be bought at check in. Cost 30 EUR per sailor.
Sailors who plan to buy a SEI should inform Junior Programme Manager by email: juniormgr@idniyra.eu in advance of 2 weeks of the Regatta.
SINGLE EVENT INSURANCE:
As in the past years we offer for those sailors who really can not show a valid proof of insurance the SINGLE EVENT INSURANCE. The fee for the Juniors will be 30,– € as it was in the past and has to be paid at regatta check-in in cash.
To avoid any misunderstanding we have to inform that the so called “Single Event Insurance” is only for sailors from countries where we KNOW that they do not have any chance to get a proper insurance or an insurance for a tolerable amount.
Please accept that not everybody who is asking for, will get a “Single Event Insurance”.

NEW – NIA-Rules 2015 – NEW
Dear DN friends,
there is a new version of the NIA rules out now. This 2015 edition contains 2 additional race course configurations (DARLING COURSE and INLINE COURSE) and new clear rules containing …
- Updated definitions and clauses to support the use of the DARLING COURSE or INLINE COURSE.
- Clarification on yachts which must keep clear while approaching the windward MARK on opposite TACKS.
- Updated restrictions on propulsion.
- A new rule which prohibits sailing between the LEEWARD MARK and the starting line immediately after the start.
- Clarification on approaching and crossing the finish line.

As you can read in the NOR, registration will open on 01. December 2015 (in about two weeks) and will close on 09. January 2016.

Time to start preparing your DN Gear.
The legendary week 46 regatta in Finland formerly known as Vikajärvi Regatta is approaching quickly in the calendar.
This year we plan to have a Training Camp prior to the regatta. So mark your Calendars, sharpen your runners, dust off that speed suit. Get ready for:

- Friday 13.11 Köhler Cup
- Saturday 14.11- Sunday 15.11 All Saints Regatta

The main goal of the event will be fun, friendship and sail as many races as possible.

WC/EC 2016 – IMPORTANT HINT 😉
Dear friends,
this is an in advance information concerning registration for WC/EC 2016.
In the coming season we have a novelty.
At the National Secretaries Meeting we introduced the so called “Early-Entry”.
This means, every sailor who makes an online-registration within the first 14 days after registration has opened is allowed to pay a reduced entry-fee.
Please keep in mind that you only can register with an Insurance-ID.
Please be aware that this time WC/EC will be in January and registration opens on 01. December 2015 (12:00 CET). So “Early-Entry” will be possible until 15. December 2015 (24:00 CET).
Further information you will get – as usual – in the NOR, which I plan to post on this web-site latest on 25. October 2015.
You can send your confirmation of cover from now on.
