JWC 2016 – FINAL
Dear Young DN and Ice-Optimist Iceboaters, coaches, parents and voluneers
Confirmation: the location of Junior World Championschips 2016 is Valma in Estonia,
Launching area: 58°36’65.8″N 25°96’59.0″E
Accomandation and Headquarter will be in “Grand Hotel Viljandi”. Town: Viljandi
So far the ice is safe, although there are some drain holes indicated by Judges. We hope to have more frost during the racing week so the conditions should be better and better

JWC 2016 – Update 2
Junior World Championship 2016 – Update 1
Dear Iceboaters, Coaches, Parents
The main Junior Event is closer and closer. I realize that every of you is wondering where you are going to take place. There is no sailable ice in Poland, Lithuania so the primary site – Estonia – primary site and Latvia as the reserve are the countries where we still can sail on JWC 2016. Due to Estonian Ice Sailing Union members we have information about three sailable lakes in Estonia. There is still aproximetally 20-25 cm of hard ice. According to the weather forecasts after a few warmer days, it is going to freeze again on the nearest Thurday, the 11th of Feb.
It`s still to early to point the best spot so please, stay tuned.
I hope to inform you as soon as it is possible about the place of JWC 2016.

DN Junior and Ice Optimist World Championships 2016 INSURANCE
Dear young DN and Ice Opti iceboaters
Some correction regarding the point: INSURANCE
Entries to Junior World Championship in 2016 are only accepted with a proof of valid third party liability insurance that must be presented at check-in. Minimum insurance amount: 500 000€. Parents or other adults who have parental authority are responsible for competitors under 18 years old. They should show that their children have an insurance and have to sign the disclaimer for them.
You don`t need to send your insurance to check by IDNIYRA Insurance Manager.
If you are in doubts about your insurance – you can send here: juniormgr@idniyra.eu the scan of insurance proof to ensure that everything is ok.
Single event insurance (SEI) policy can be bought at check in. Cost 30 EUR per sailor.
Sailors who plan to buy a SEI should inform Junior Programme Manager by email: juniormgr@idniyra.eu in advance of 2 weeks of the Regatta.
SINGLE EVENT INSURANCE:
As in the past years we offer for those sailors who really can not show a valid proof of insurance the SINGLE EVENT INSURANCE. The fee for the Juniors will be 30,– € as it was in the past and has to be paid at regatta check-in in cash.
To avoid any misunderstanding we have to inform that the so called “Single Event Insurance” is only for sailors from countries where we KNOW that they do not have any chance to get a proper insurance or an insurance for a tolerable amount.
Please accept that not everybody who is asking for, will get a “Single Event Insurance”.

Dates 15th to 19th February 2016 with15th February as the training day and 19th as Reserve day
Junior DN age limit: it was agreed to raise this from 22 to 23 years old

Here are the final JWC 2015 RESULTS
JWC 2015 price giving
After 2 days of tuff sailing with 7 race in each fleet JWC 2015 ended with a prize giving ceremony at Rekyva school. The ceremony was honoured by attendance of deputy mayor Danguolé Martinkienè and officials from the school and Siauliai City.

Estonian Team also won the Good sportsmanship Award for providing a spare boat to top sailor Eddie Klemets S 812 so he could continue to sail after his boat crashed in race 4.
Thanks to all sailors for safe and good sailing! Thanks to Siauliai Yacht Club and Rekyva School for support and use of harbour and school house. Thanks to race course team for providing safe and fair sailing options.

The ice on lake Rekyva has been checked today. 25 cm hard ice little bumpy but no cracks.
JWC 2015 will be sailed on Rekyva according to Notice of Race.
Check in Monday 16th February from 14.00 – 18.00 at Regatta Office in Rekyva school (close to lake)
Opening ceremony Tuesday 17th at 10.00 on the ice — first start 11.00

Important info !! We have to move JWC 2015 from Sweden due to poor ice conditions. Saaremaa, Riga or Siauliai are possible sailing areas. Important info to all participants at JWC 2015
We have got a lot of snow in Sweden. No sailable ice left.
Some cold nights expected next week but unlikely to provide new strong ice.
We are preparing to move JWC 2015 via Riga to possible better ice in Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania/Poland
Final decision not later when Saturday 14th at 12:00 but could be earlier.

Welcome to enter JWC 2015 for IceOptimist and DN junior. Training and check in 15-16 February. Opening and first start 17 February. Racing days 17-19 February. Reserve day 20 February. See NOR for more info.
We plan to sail in Vasteras if the ice not get to much snow.Final decision 14 February at 1200 Swedish time.

Dear all.
This years JWC will be sailed on historical for icesailing lake “Kisezers” in Riga Latvia, where numerous USSR championships were held.
