Dear Sailors,
The Board has received several questions. The following frequently asked questions and answers should provide clarity about what will happen this week.
Question: Will new sailors, or sailors who did not check in in Sweden, be allowed to join the World Championship (WC)?
Answer: No. RMA (II) 7.f) does not allow this.
Question: Will new sailors be able to join the European Championship (EC)?
Answer: Yes.
Question: When will the EC check‑in take place?
Answer: EC check‑in will take place at the HQ Hotel’s regatta office on Thursday, 19.2, from 19:00 to 20:30.
Question: When is the WC considered over?
Answer: The official rules can be found in the SI and RMA. In practical terms for this regatta, the WC is considered over on the day when the A‑fleet has completed three starts. On that same day, after A‑fleet has completed three starts, the Race Committee will continue with as many additional starts as the rules allow, aiming for all fleets to reach the same number of starts.
Question: Must sailors who checked in for the WC also check in again for the EC?
Answer: Yes.
Question: What is the timetable for Thursday?
Answer: The schedule remains exactly as described in the SI:
– Skippers’ Meeting: 09:00
– First Start: 10:00
B‑qualifier will start first, followed by A‑fleet.
Question: How many C, B, and A sailors are attending now?
Answer: A total of 18 sailors have gone home. So 8 less sailors in C fleet, 8 less sailors in B fleet and 2 less sailors in A-fleet.
Question: Now that the location has changed, will there be new starting lists?
Answer: No. The B‑qualifier and the first A‑fleet race will start using the original starting positions. There may be no‑shows on the starting line, which is normal.
