JWC/JEC 2020 Sunday decision.

Dear young icesailors and parents/trainers.

We have checked lake Furudal today morning and found that the ice is very good, hard,

without any (!) cracks and 30cm in thickness .

The harbour will be on big parking near church white building ( Ora Kyrka ) with good aces

Check-in today (Sunday ) 15:00-19:00 in grey building near reception.

Skippers meeting and opening ceremony tomorrow ( Monday Feb 17th ) on the Furudal ice

10:00 and first start scheduled for DN-Junior at 12:00.

WC/EC 2020 – Closing Post

Dear Fellow Icesailors, Frieds of Icesailing,

Today we have finished the 2020 World and European Championships. The weather conditions were challenging.

As you know Orsasjön was the only lake in Europe to provide sufficient ice conditions for a regatta hosting 150 icesailors. The wind was moderate the first two days, but we still could sail 7 races, thus on the fourth day we finished the WC.

The 2020 DN World Champion is: P- 155, Lukasz Zakrzewski

We spent the last three days on the ice without wind, hoping that on the last day of the event we can sail the Europeans. Though we had the wind we were waiting for, but the ice conditions did not allow us to sail the European Championship.
I would like to thank you all who came and participated,  the Race Committee for their professional work, Orsa Camping for hosting our event and their guests who tolerated our busy and sometimes loud behaviour and a Special Thanks to all the supporters and volunteers.

WC/EC 2020 – Prize giving & Social event

Dear Fellow Icesailors,

The Prize Giving Ceremony for the 2020 World Championship will be held on 13 February (Thursday) at 18:00 in the McGregor’s Sportbar at Orsa Camping.

Following the ceremony, you are invited to have a Grillbuffet together.

On the menu it will be:

  • Pork Tenderloin
  • Salmon
  • Ribs
  • Chicken wings
  • Chorizo
  • Side dishes

 

The food will be paid by IDNIYRA EU, but the drinks will be on everybody’s own account.

WC/EC 2020 – Change of schedule

Due to the predicted low wind tomorrow morning we will postpone the Skippers Meeting by half an hour.

We will meet you at the launching site at 9:30 am.

WC/EC 2020 – Protest Hearing

The following protest hearings will be held today (11 February) at 18:00 in the Race Office:

1.) R-166 vs. S-81

2.) D-92 vs. P-146

I would like to ask the parties concerned to come to the Race Office at 18:00 and also bring your witnesses.

JWC 2020 – final decision.

We have DN WC/EC 2020 now on the lake Orsa in Sweden and together Monotype XV EC 2020 .

Ice conditions are very good and weather forecast looks promissing for the next week.

This is only good ice in all Europe, so I would like to confirm final decision

for our World & European  DN-Junior and Ice-Optimist Championship 2020 :

Lake Orsa ( Orsasjön ) in Orsa , 15 km from Mora in Sweden.

All event will be acording to NOR 16-21. Feb 2020.
