JWC 2019 Update 2

Hi all young icesailors and couches.

We have checked the ice on lake Niegocin this morning and due to bed conditions ( double ice,

not frozen slush  and snow drifts) decision is to move JWC regatta to lake Siemianowka.

There conditions are very good ( over 20cm ice , hard snow ice on the top ).

Today , Tuesday is for travel : from Gizycko road 63, then move to 65 , pass Bialystok on 65 and about 40km behind you have to turn right – to road 686 pass Michalowo and next turn 687  to Boundary. The harbor is on local beach will be market with DN sign.

Tomorrow ( Wednesday Feb 6th ) opening ceremony on the ice at 10:00 and first start DN Junior 11:00.

JWC 2O19 Update 1

Hi  all young ice sailors .

Due to iceconditions on lake Niegocin sailing on the ice in today ( Monday Feb 4th ) is forbidden.

We are going to start check-in earlier , at 12:OO in Race Office , Ekomarina.

Measuring is open 10:00-15:00.

Look for next decisions in further notice .

Dear Fellow Young Icesailors, Parents & Coaches,

I would like to inform All of you that World and European DN-Junior and Ice-Optimist Championship 2019

will be sailed on lake Niegocin in Gizycko , Poland.

The harbour of the event will be Ekomarina club in Gizycko. There will be registration on Monday Feb 4th and opening  ceremony  Tuesday Feb 5th morning.

Thank very much for all scouting and informations  I have got from different iceboaters and friends about

possible lakes for our regatta.

Dear Iceboaters

Today I have received information from Rekyva Lake. It was foggy, so sailing was impossible. In that time some icesailors (Thank you Adam and Lukasz!) hade made the ice scouting.

You can see the ice structure and surface. You can also notice, that there are holes of the doble ice, still dangerous to sail. During the weekend they should freeze to safe places. The JWC Race Comitee will mark all the dangerowus places with flags on Monday morning. On lounching area there will be black or green flag exposed. There will be also the map of the lake with dangerus places indicated also.

Dear All

Today I have received ice-condition information from Lithuania and Estonia. Considering the weather forecasts for these countries I made the decision: The JWC 2018 will take place in Siaulai/Lithuania on Rekyva Lake. Launching site in Siauliu Zalgirio Jachtklubas: 55.860221, 23.330187 on the east coast of the lake.

JWC 2018 – statement no. 1

Dear All

I imagine that all of you are waitnig for news about place of JWC/JEC 2018. We are all observing the weather predictions and ice-reports. At this moment we under the big impact of warm weather but luckilly it is going to stop and some frost is coming.

At this moment we can be sure, that Germany and Western Poland is out of board. Probably Masurian Lakes also, although Gizycko, Dargin Lake has still ice on top. Lithuania/Siaulai is promising, the same with Estonia. Now we need to be patient and wait and observe.

I am going to give 3 communiques, the last one 48 hours before the first warning signal.
